Job Summary: We are seeking a proactive, detailed-oriented, and tenacious paralegal for work on a variety of employment discrimination, wrongful death, and serious personal injury cases. The following are the job responsibilities for this position:
- Communicate with clients, experts, and others in assisting attorneys with investigations and litigation.
- Collect, organize, and prepare documents or Electronically Stored Information (“ESI”) and other information for use in litigation.
- Schedule and calendar meetings and conference calls for attorneys.
- Monitor and calendar deadlines across cases and advise attorneys in advance of such deadlines to ensure they are met.
- Gather records from non-clients as directed by the attorneys (e.g., client medical records, public records, etc.).
- Draft discovery requests and responses for attorney review.
- Download, organize, and analyze incoming production from defendants and save to client file and/or discovery database.
- Handle all deposition logistics (e.g. prepare notices, arrange for the court reporter, etc.).
- Assist attorneys in locating documents for use at deposition, in court filings, and at trial.
- Review and summarize documents, highlighting important information for attorneys.
- Draft chronologies and timelines for attorneys.
- Draft correspondence for attorney review.
- Prepare pleadings for attorney review.
- E-file materials with the court in compliance with court rules.
- Provide support to attorneys during trial preparation and trial.
- Other assistance as needed.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience supporting a litigation practice.
- Working knowledge of state court rules, including electronic filing procedures.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working under a deadline.
- Must have strong cooperation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently, with self-motivation, initiative, and follow up.
- Ability to prioritize directions from supervising attorneys/paralegals.
- Aptitude for problem solving technology and software related questions.
- Always represent the firm in a professional and ethical manner.
- Strong, compassionate, and inclusive approach to teamwork.
- Experience with ProLaw and Digital War Room software preferred.
- A persistent interest in helping people seek justice.

Reporting Relationships
The Paralegal reports directly to a SGB Shareholder.
Location & Schedule
SGB’s main office is in downtown Seattle on the 34th floor of the new Rainier Square Building at 401 Union Street. Most of our employees, including paralegals, work a hybrid schedule, with the option to work remotely up to three days a week. Additional in-office work, work during evening hours and weekends, and occasional overtime work should be expected, such as during a trial.
