Description

LAVLE is seeking a full-time Paralegal to assist with legal and business matters at the direction of its General Counsel.  The position requires a high degree of discretion. Highly developed organizational, written and verbal communication skills will be valued as essential qualities of the incumbent.  This is a terrific opportunity for an experienced Paralegal to grow with this exciting company. 

Essential Functions 

  • Day to day office support of General Counsel. 
  • Records retention management, document storage, contract management, organizational assistance, litigation support, assistance in supporting/managing outside counsel as directed. 
  • alendar tracking, travel arrangement assistance, and assistance in establishing deliverables, timelines of the General Counsel’s office.
  • Assist in legal research, writing, editing and the drafting of correspondence and legal documents.  
  • Assist in invoicing, payment of vendors, expense tracking for the General Counsel’s office, and general administrative tasks in other areas as may be needed.
  • Assist in corporate compliance functions.
  • Knowledge Skills and Abilities 

  • Excellent organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, time management, documents or record management, and meeting deadlines, is required. 
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Westlaw (or other legal research platforms) is required. 
  • Experience supporting corporate compliance and real estate transactions background preferred.
  • Demonstrated record of critical thought and serious contribution to a legal department or law office is preferred.   
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively with teams, including senior decision makers and external organizations. 
  • Ability to successfully interact with executives and others within the company and outside the company to complete work on behalf of the General Counsel. 
  • Minimum Requirements 

  • The following may be deemed sufficient to meet the minimum requirements for this position:  Undergraduate degree at an accredited university or college andat least two (2) years relevant experience; or, a paralegal certificate and at least four (4) years of relevant experience; or, six (6) years of relevant experience may be considered sufficient to meet the minimum requirement.  
  • Experience in, organizational management, records / document management, knowledge of real estate transaction, construction, corporate compliance and the marine industry will be considered an asset.
