Family Law Litigation Paralegal

Responsibilities:
• Interact with clients, professional team members, court staff, witnesses, experts, opposing counsel and their staff
• Attend client meetings
• Compose, prepare, and answer client and third-party correspondence
• Interact with courts regarding hearings, motions etc.
• Draft child support worksheets
• Prepare family law legal pleadings, including motion pleadings, declarations, discovery and other documents as needed
• Assist with trial preparation including the assembly of exhibits/trial binders, and court filings
• Prepare and review, or reply to, discovery
• Assist lawyers in all aspects of family law litigation including depositions, hearings and trial
• Handle large volumes of financial documents, organize and analyze them
• Preparing asset/debt spreadsheets for mediation
• Manage case calendars and schedules
• Assist legal team with detailed categorization and document indexing
• Assist legal team with opening new client files
• Assist legal team with drafting, filing, serving, and tracking general pleadings and documents/correspondence
• Assist legal team with processing incoming and outgoing mail, legal messenger deliveries, and provide copies to client via various methods (email, mail, document portal)
Qualifications:
• 3+ years of litigation experience in a family law firm setting and knowledge of King, Pierce and Snohomish County court systems and procedures
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong computer and technological skills necessary
• Candidates who have completed a paralegal professional certification or have advanced paralegal education will receive priority consideration
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, clients and others
• Logical and Analytical Skills - Quick to learn new skills and create systems to manage tasks
• Ability to prioritize and multitask, and work independently
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Sound knowledge and understanding of Court rules
• In-depth knowledge of King County e-filing systems with ability learn quickly other systems, as needed
• Proficiency in Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook), pdf software, child support calculator, Clio office management
• High degree of professionalism and dependability
Benefits:
Job Type: Full-time (work hours flexible)
Pay: Salary $52,500 - 72,000 (DOE and adjustable with minimum billable requirement)

Education: (Required) Associate Degree and/or Paralegal Certification
