ZERVAS LAW, P.S., located in Bellingham, seeks an experienced paralegal to join our real estate, business, land use, and estate planning and probate practice.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage calendars: including scheduling and tracking client appointments, court dates, and deadlines
• Communicate and meetings with clients and attorneys
• Maintain organized paper and electronic files
• Draft estate planning, real estate, entity formation, and contract documents
• Prepare legal correspondence, pleadings, briefs, discovery, and exhibits
• Investigate relevant facts and laws, search public records and other resources, and conduct legal research
• Direct and coordinate law office activity

Responsibilities may shift and change daily, and the person in this position must be flexible, have a “take-charge” mentality, and take personal ownership in both the firm’s success and the clients’ satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• 4+ years’ experience as a Paralegal in the areas of business, real estate, trust and estates, and litigation
• Certification or associate degree in paralegal studies (bachelor’s degree is preferred)
• Office administration experience, with strong working knowledge of advanced functions of Microsoft Office (including Word, Outlook and Excel) and Adobe Acrobat—experience with QuickBooks is a plus
• Ability and desire to:
- draft legal documents such as contracts, depositions, discovery, and pleadings follow written and verbal instructions and work independently
- perform legal research using Casemaker/Fastcase, and Westlaw effectively multi-task and manage those tasks in a fast-paced environment
- perform exceptionally under deadlines
- track billable and non-billable time daily
• Possess:
- High level of attention to detail and organization
- Investigative mind and strong research skills
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, planning, prioritization, time-management, and verbal and written communication skills
