Perkins Coie LLP is seeking a highly-motivated Patent Paralegal to join the Seattle office. The individual in this role will perform paralegal functions and provide support services for patent filings to attorneys and clients. Job responsibilities include preparing and filing patent applications and various prosecution documents via the electronic filing system (EFS-Web) at the USPTO; communication with clients, and maintaining and reviewing dockets. The candidate must have strong knowledge of USPTO and WIPO rules and requirements. Knowledge and experience in international procedures and requirements is a strong plus. We are searching for a self-starter with problem-solving abilities and the following attributes: excellent communication and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, ability to work well under pressure, ability to multi-task and prioritize, can work well both independently and as a team member, and the ability to work effectively in a fast paced and high-pressured environment. Must have excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Acrobat, and Outlook. Excellent grammar, proofreading, and English composition skills is also essential.
Education & Experience:
A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5+ years of recent experience working as a patent paralegal in a law firm or in-house legal department, or equivalent is required. Paralegal certificate is preferred.
