Benefits
Special needs trusts permit beneficiaries to maintain eligibility for need-based, or means-tested, government benefits such as Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and Medicaid. The trust funds are used to provide goods and services to the beneficiary which are not otherwise covered by these benefit programs. This live audio conference will help you learn when the use of a special needs trust is appropriate to protect a beneficiary's assets, or the assets of a third-party, while still maintaining the beneficiary's eligibility for need-based government benefits. You will also learn how to draft a special needs trust, including the differences between first-party and third-party special needs trusts, and tips for administering a special needs trust properly.
