A new PACE® Study Group in the Seattle/Bellevue area is now being organized, with a projected start-up date in the Fall (after October 1, 2010) or perhaps this Winter (starting after January 1, 2011). Employers in the Seattle area are recognizing the value of the Registered Paralegal (“RP”) designation and have begun to advertise for employees with that advanced certification. So, if you have been looking for a way to advance your career, this is an excellent next step!
WSPA’s PACE® Study Groups use the NFPA approved PACE® Study Manual and cover all 5 of the topical domain and meet once per week, The Study Group typically spans a time period of approximately 14 weeks in order to accommodate busy schedules (and to accommodate those who need help with self-discipline and who like the social aspect of a group study). We will take time off for holidays. We will eat, drink and be merry while we study. We will share study tools and run flash cards together, as we study for the final exam, and we will even try to schedule our exams together for moral support, and we will build some awesome friendships along the way. Each participant will be expected to volunteer to teach one or two of the Chapters in the Study Manual to their fellow group participants, using the material contained in the Study Manual, or other reliable resources you creatively research and locate. It’s a great experience at public speaking in a small group setting (typically between 6 and 8 people) and really helps reinforce the materials in the Chapters you volunteer to teach.

We will have an organizational meeting to figure out which night of the week is best suited for the majority of the group and where the study group will meet, once the locale is established. Meetings are held in the evenings or on the occasional weekend to accommodate everyone’s work schedules.
If space permits, those who are not currently eligible, but close to being eligible, may also join in the Study Group…we have a philosophy of “the more the merrier” in our approach to studying, and let’s fact it, we all have something to contribute of value, regardless of our years of experience.
