About The Paralegal Position

Perform a variety of administrative tasks in support of F5’s equity plans, contract database and intellectual property development program. This role also acts as executive assistant to our General Counsel and provides general support to the Legal Department.

Responsibilities
  • Equity Plan Administrative Support:
    • Support Sr. Corporate Paralegal in equity plan administration
    • Daily administration of employee option exercises
    • Perform pre and post-release tasks for restricted stock unit (“RSU”) releases
    • Provide back-up for RSU releases and Employee Stock Purchase Plan processing
    • Process new equity grants and the distribution of grant documentation
    • Process all personnel updates in Equity Edge
    • Draft Section 16 filings for review
    • Draft annual D&O questionnaires
    • Handle basic employee issues/questions and liaison with broker as needed; including opening and following up on cases if necessary
    • Assist in annual meeting planning
  • Intellectual Property Support:
    • Support Corporate IP counsel
    • Coordinating, scheduling and administrative support for internal patent committee meetings
    • Coordinating, scheduling and administrative support for patent disclosure meetings with inventors/patent counsel
    • Administrative support for generating IP reports, e.g., budgeting, company meetings, patent award reports
    • Liaison with outside IP counsel to support patent and trademark transactional and litigation matters, monthly billing
    • Support busy patent filing program, e.g., coordinate document signings, set up inventor/outside counsel meetings
    • Maintain inventor incentive award program records
    • Gather trademark use specimens and related materials
    • Maintain electronic and hardcopy patent and trademark files/records
    • Maintain internal IP related SharePoint Websites
  • Administrative and general legal support:
    • Support Sr. Vice President and General Counsel
    • Manage calendars, schedule meetings, coordinate group events, make travel arrangements, mailing, faxing, copying
    • Prepare and track expense reports
    • Assist with organizing and maintaining Board of Director materials and minutes
    • Organize and maintain F5’s electronic database and hardcopy files of contracts
  • Additional ad-hoc duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Two to four years experience providing high level administrative support
  • Corpore ate Legal support experience required
  • Knowledge of stock administration and Equity Edge software and reporting is highly desirable
  • Bachelors degree a plus
  • Paralegal certificate a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel are required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to pay close attention to detail while handling multiple, simultaneous projects under deadline pressure
  • Exceptional analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Up-beat attitude and the ability to work effectively under pressure are required
  • Ability to operate with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment with a high degree of initiative
